Another challenge from Daily Paint Works. Metal is definitely a challenge. Mixing the right color and trying to make it look like a shining surface. Whew!
I was given a 8" plain wooden box to paint for the Artists' Gallery 10th Annual Box Show & Silent Auction. So this is the finished product. I made a lid so it would be functional and I could create the open box effect for the trompe l'oeil. I chose the air, water, earth, and fire elements theme and picked inanimate objects. The closing reception is March 26, 5-8 PM. So if you are near Frederick, Maryland, stop by and see a great show!
Living in Derwood, Maryland, with my wonderful husband, two great kids (adults) and our rambuctious dog, Maggie. I try to paint everyday but of course life happens and that is not always possible. Sitting in front of the easel with brushes in hand is my meditation. I'm engrossed in my tiny world creating what I want. I welcome any and all comments.
